Bonn / Berlin, 12 July 2013 – Stephan Grabmeier invested in Berlin-based software-as-a-service provider of asynchronous video interviews, viasto GmbH.
“Asynchronous video interviews are becoming an integral part of the future of professional recruiting processes. viasto has established itself with its diagnostically reliable product and competence-based assessment methods as a leader in this emerging market. The team is highly competent, visionary and professional”, explained Grabmeier when asked about his decision…
viasto GmbH was founded in 2010 as a spin-off at the Free University of Berlin. The software program, interview suite, enables recruiters to get a personal impression of their candidate. As well as further insight into that person’s skills and competencies at an early stage of the selection process.
Invited candidates use their webcam to record answers to the company’s questions. They do this completely independent, in time and location, of the recruiter and manager. The decision-makers can then incorporate these impressions in deciding which applicants will be invited for personal interviews.
“”In recruiting, personality and real skills play an increasingly important role. They cannot be reliably assessed with CVs, and more often than you’d think, companies mistakenly reject suitable candidates. We want to give candidates the opportunity to present themselves authentically, without neglecting the quality and comparable benefits of requirement oriented processes,” explains Martin Becker, founder and CEO of viasto GmbH.
Until May 2013, Grabmeier was the Head of the Cultural Initiatives of Deutsche Telekom AG, he was responsible for the Innovation and Enterprise 2.0 initiatives of the group. It was in this context that he met viasto. “The collaboration convinced me from the beginning,” says Grabmeier, “there are few HR innovations that improve employer branding, process efficiency and decision quality as impressively as video interviews with the interview suite.”
