We want to recreate the world of recruitment. We believe that personality and skills matter more than grades and degrees, so why use only a CV to preselect? Why not give each candidate an opportunity to present themselves properly? Our interview suite isn’t just cool video technology, we also use psychologically valid selection processes to ensure that businesses can efficiently, flexibly and reliably prescreen their candidates. This means that only the most appropriate and suitable candidates are selected.
The viasto story
2010 – The Beginning
viasto founder and CEO, Martin Becker, sees that recruiting is lacking a preselection tool which allows companies to reliably pre-screen candidates in a cost-effective way.
Psychologist Sara Lindemann, now co-founder and Head of Business Development & Client Success of viasto, conducted research that found brief, structured video responses from candidates produced a more reliable and fairer assessment than traditional methods.
The idea of a pre-recorded video interview solution was born.
The name viasto was created, from video assessment tool.
viasto GmbH is officially founded.
The team receives the coveted EXIST founders scholarship from the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Europäischen Sozialfonds (ESF) and the founder grant from Beuth University of Berlin.
The interview suite is launched and presented at Europe’s largest job fair.
2011 – The First Steps
2013 – First Customers
The interview suite is placed on the market.
Deutsche Telekom is one of the first customers on board.
The interview suite wins several awards, including the Deutsche Telekom winner of the HR Excellence Awards in the category “Methods of personnel selection”, the HR Innovation Slam and the IT Innovation Award in the category of Human Resources.
More than 40 companies come onboard as customers.

2015 – Funding and Growth
With another round of financing, we continued to grow and share our vision of better recruiting with even more companies.
Hundreds of clients, including enterprise companies like Microsoft, Beiersdorf, and Telefonica, medium-sized companies like SICK, Engel & Völkers, and CURRENTA, and startups like Goodgame Studios and trivago use the interview suite to efficiently recruit and make better hiring decisions.
viasto is an indispensable part of the international recruiting landscape and the European leader for video recruiting.
More than 60,000 completed video interviews from over 120 countries, more than 3,500 filled positions through the use of the interview suite, and more than 4,000 satisfied users. All of this won´t be possible without our team of more than 20 members from 8 nations.
