Last year, trivago received around 50,000 applications, many of which were international. For trivago’s HR team, the challenge was the high administrative workload, which was accompanied by the telephone preselection of candidates. In addition, the hit rate of personal interviews was too low. The department, which was responsible for personal interviews, spent too much time in discussions with candidates who were quickly found to be mismatches.

The quality of candidates in personal interviews increased significantly; significantly fewer interviews are needed to fill vacancies.
The simple comparison between the applicants, the amount of time saved and the simple usability of the software convinces departments. The distribution of the interview suite speaks for itself: today, pre-recorded video interviews are used for the majority of all open vacancies.
Future plans with the interview suite
In the coming years, the expansion of the interview suite will be promoted more strongly to other areas, especially positions in the IT sector, where candidates will be increasingly screened.
